Rice Bikes was established in February, 2011 by two sophomores from Sid Richardson college. Although it initially started as a simple repair service, the student-run business eventually expanded to include rentals and sales, as well as working closely with Rice’s annual Beer Bike. Rice Bikes moved into the garage of the Multicultural Center in 2017, and as of August of 2026, it is now on the ground floor of Duncan College! Now, Rice Bikes is a flourishing business that offers valuable services not only to Rice University, but communities all over Houston.
